Silent Season at Glengoyne Distillery

Glengoyne Distillery, located in Dumgoyne, near Killearn, is known for its exceptional single malt whiskies and highly regarded as Scotland’s most beautiful distillery. One of its unique practices is ‘Silent Season’, a dedicated period when the distillery pauses operations for maintenance and repair.

Glengoyne Distillery

Silent Season at Glengoyne Distillery runs from 28th June to 10th August and this year, Glengoyne is undergoing stillhouse maintenance which allows visitors to experience the other side of distillery life. Visitors can explore the whisky-making process through unique tours and tastings, experiencing the traditional method and flavours that make award-winning Glengoyne whisky.

This break ensures the quality of their whiskies and allows the distillery team to fine-tune equipment and ensure the legacy of an unhurried approach. Silent Season, most importantly, reflects Glengoyne’s commitment to quality and craftmanship, honouring its rich history since 1833. By embracing this tradition, Glengoyne continues to attract whisky enthusiasts from around the globe.
