Scottish Maritime Museum (Denny Tank) Launches “My Fantastic Ship” Children’s Competition
SCOTTISH MARITIME MUSEUM (DENNY TANK)
LAUNCHES ‘MY FANTASTIC SHIP’ CHILDREN’S COMPETITION
The Scottish Maritime Museum (Denny Tank) on Castle Street, Dumbarton, has launched the ‘My Fantastic Ship’ children’s competition and build sessions.
Every Saturday from now until 1 November, young creators aged 5-12 can pop along to the Museum for free and let their imaginations run wild as they build the ship of their dreams.
Children visiting with an adult can join in the hands-on building sessions getting inspiration, materials and expert guidance from the Museum team.
The Museum Curator will select the top ten ships. As well as prizes to be won, all winning vessels will go on display at the Museum.
Claire Jones, Learning, Engagement and Volunteer Manager at the Scottish Maritime Museum, says:
“We’re thrilled to launch the ‘My Fantastic Ship’ children’s competition and build sessions for the upcoming school holidays.
“We can’t wait to see the amazing ships everyone creates – from pirate galleons and spaceships to magical submarines!”
Spaces are limited so the free tickets should be pre-booked on the Museum website - www.scottishmaritimemuseum.org
