Loch Lomond Weather

Personally, we like the uncertainty of it all. If we were forecasters we would solemnly tell you that Scotland has an oceanic climate. The prevailing south-westerlies off the Atlantic meet the more stable air from mainland Europe - usually right over our heads!  Yes, it can be changeable - but seldom extreme. (Even so, the summits of some of our very highest hills, for example, in an average year, receive more than three times the rainfall at sea level on parts of the Clyde estuary.)

Basically, the Loch Lomond area has weather to match its scenic variety. Yes, the sun may light up those brilliant colours of loch and mountain.  And you may get dramatic clouds, perhaps a shower or two, then sun again! Keep the camera handy for those impressive lighting effects.

Though we can't make predictions for your visit, we do have Loch Lomond webcams so you can see what's going on right now.  We may not always do dawn to dusk sunshine, but we can certainly do atmosphere...
