Ben Lomond Clanscape

09:30 - 16:30

This National Trust for Scotland event takes place on both Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 September from 9.30am - 4.30pm.

Try your hand at a variety of traditional skills, and learn about life in days gone by!

Visit the recently thatched cruck-framed building at Ardess, Rowardennan, to get a chance to try your hand at a variety of traditional skills.

Try the Green Woodworking techniques used in the building construction; help the wool spinners spin their yarns; try stone carving, and lend a hand to mow the meadow by scythe.

Learn rope making techniques and have tea and bannocks around the fire. Make artists willow charcoal to take home, and all to the comforting sounds of live traditional music in the open air.

No booking required, just drop by and join in at any time throughout the day. This is a free event, but donations are welcome to help it happen again!

Partners for this event include the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, and the Haddington Spinners.

To get there, from Rowardennan car park walk north for 300m to the entrance to the youth hostel, then follow the brown signs for Ben Lomond ranger service for another 300m. Please note Forestry Commission Scotland charge £3 per car for parking at Rowardennan car park.
