Ten Years of Celebrating Food and Drink at Loch Lomond Shores

On Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th September, the 10th birthday bash of The Loch Lomond Food & Drink Festival will transform the calm and picturesque surroundings of Loch Lomond Shores into the biggest, brightest and most fun-filled free festival site which is set to attract thousands of food and drink lovers, festival-goers and families looking for the ultimate day out.

Some of the artisan producers offering cool and tasty street food and drink are Boy Meets Grill, serving delicious ribeye steak sandwiches and venison cooked over charcoal, Erincroft Bakery, offering tasty cake pops and amazing breads; and for gin lovers, Strathearn Distillery will be showcasing their exclusive range of Scottish inspired gins. These are just some of the 85 stalls which will be bursting with the best of Scottish and international food and drink in the iconic setting of Loch Lomond Shores, just a mere 20 minutes from Glasgow city centre.

Not only can visitors wander around, tasting and buying from artisan producers, they can also watch live cookery demonstrations, listen to live music and be entertained by a range of spontaneous loch-side performances throughout the day.

To whet the appetite even more, and for the first time in the festival’s ten year history, there will also be an exclusive beach bar serving the finest ales, ciders and wines where visitors can sit back on cool deck chairs, relax and enjoy great drinks set against the beautiful backdrop of Loch Lomond plus kids will also have the chance to make lots of fun things at the new WEECOOKIES zone.

Clare Gemmell, Loch Lomond Shores General Manager, said:  “I’m absolutely delighted that we are celebrating such a tremendous milestone this year with our tenth birthday. It is even more special that it falls within Scotland’s Year of Food and Drink.

"We have a record breaking number of producers booked to attend the festival and the new additions of the beach bar and kids’ cookery workshops will be sure to keep everyone entertained throughout the weekend.’’
