Sweeney's Cruises Launch New Cruise to Visit Largest Island on Loch Lomond

Balloch-based Sweeney’s Cruises has launched a new Balloch - Inchmurrin island - Balmaha ferry service, operating in July and August only, which will provide visitors with the opportunity to visit the largest island on Loch Lomond.

The island of Inchmurrin has been inhabited since the 6th Century and houses the ruin of Lennox Castle, once visited by King Robert the Bruce and Mary Queen of Scots.

The island also has a small family run hotel* serving pub lunches during the summer months. You can carry on the route to Balmaha on the west side of Loch Lomond with its walks, trails and bike routes or stop in at the Oak Tree Inn for a spot of lunch.

Departs Balloch: 10.30am, 1pm and 3pm

Departs Inchmurrin: 11am12pm (for Balloch) 1.30pm, 2.30pm (for Balloch) 3.30pm and 4.30pm (for Balloch)

Departs Balmaha: 11.30am, 2pm and 4pm

* Please note the Inchmurrin Hotel is closed on Tuesdays. All times are approximate and may be subject to demand. To check daily timetables, call 01389 752 376.
