Success for Local Businesses in the Scottish Entertainment Awards
Two Helensburgh food and drink establishments have triumphed at the 3rd annual Scottish Entertainment Awards.
La Barca Spanish Tapas Restaurant in Helensburgh, owned by husband and wife team Milan and Cara Nikolic, won the award for Scotland's Best Mediterranean Restaurant at Scotland's largest hospitality event on Sunday 18th May - the only event where the public vote for their favourite venues nationwide.
Cara, Milan and the team at La Barca are delighted with their win which is sure to put Helensburgh on the map for more great places to eat out.
Cara acknowledged that the award is a great recognition of the staff's commitment to providing a great customer experience, saying, “It’s their award as much as it is ours, and it shows they are doing great work.” The couple, who also own the Riverbank and Garth restaurants also in Helensburgh, currently employ around fifty staff.
Scotland's Best Takeaway is now officially Helensburgh's fish and chip takeaway The Wee Kelpie, delighting husband and wife owners Kerr and Nicola Raeburn.
Three other local businesses and Love Loch Lomond members also reached finalist stage in the Scottish Entertainment Awards: World of Golf/Jurassic Parrr based in Clydebank, Loch Lomond Sealife Aquarium in Balloch and the Loch Lomond Bird of Prey Centre at Loch Lomond Shores.
Congratulations and well done to all winners and finalists.
