Record Breaking 2016 for Loch Lomond Shores with over 1.3m Visitors
Loch Lomond Shores commences 2017 on a record breaking high as the five-star retail and visitor attraction, a favourite destination for Glasgow and Stirling day-trippers, saw over 1.3 million visitors descend on the iconic destination in 2016.
This is the highest recorded number of visitors in the complex’s 15 year history and an increase of over 5% on the figures achieved in 2015.
2016 was a fantastic year for the attraction, as it not only hosted several major events such as the Great Scottish Swim, Springfest and the Loch Lomond Food & Drink Festival but also welcomed over 40,000 coach passengers from across the UK and overseas; the highest number ever recorded.
In addition, in June 2016 the attraction scooped the top accolade at the prestigious national Scottish Hospitality Awards and was officially named Scotland’s Best Day Out.
Commenting on a fantastic 2016, Clare Gemmell, General Manager of Loch Lomond Shores, said: “It has been another bustling year at Loch Lomond Shores, and with such an excellent variety of activities, shopping and eating opportunities alongside a busy event schedule we are delighted that so many visitors have come to enjoy our location.”
This year sees Loch Lomond Shores celebrating its 15th anniversary in the summer and plans are already underway to develop activities during this time to enable visitors to celebrate in style.
Loch Lomond Shores is the award-winning gateway to Scotland’s first national park and is situated at Ben Lomond Way, Balloch, G83 8QL.
