Pub of the Year Award for The Oak Tree Inn Balmaha
Loch Lomond’s Oak Tree Inn has been named Independent Pub of the Year at the 2015 SLTN Awards.
The award was presented to Stuart and Lucy Fraser, from the family which owns the Balmaha business, at the ceremony held at Glasgow’s Hilton Hotel by its host, comedian Jimmy Carr. This was the 20th year of the prestigious SLTN Awards which recognises high standards, innovation and excellence within the Scottish Licensed Trade.
This is the latest in a series of award successes for The Oak Tree Inn, previously collecting awards at the Herald Family Business Awards and the Forth Valley Chamber Awards earlier in the year.
The Oak Tree has also been nominated as a Regional Finalist at Visit Scotland’s Thistle Awards in the "Friendliest Pub" category and will hear the results on Wednesday 11th November 2015.
The Oak Tree recently celebrated its 18th birthday and as Partner Stuart Fraser explains, business values since day one have remained constant:
‘We’ve worked hard to grow the business over the years, adding services including a shop, coffee shop, microbrewery and ice cream parlour. But as we’ve grown we’ve kept the welcoming family atmosphere and attention to detail that made the Oak Tree such an instant hit.’
‘This has been an exceptional year for us, as well as the awards we were enrolled in Trip Advisor's Hall of Fame for winning their Certificate of Excellence for 5 consecutive years. We are absolutely committed to growing the quality of the Balmaha destination and maintaining the very highest standards for our customers’.
