New Winter Light Event to Mark Start of Festive Season

Visitor attraction and retail complex Loch Lomond Shores is putting the twinkle into winter with a brand new event taking place on Thursday 17 and Friday 18 November, within the five-star Loch Lomond Bird of Prey Centre and surrounding woodland, called Light Up at The Loch.

Tickets are now on sale and are already going fast.

For just two special evenings on 17 and 18 November, from 4.30pm-8.00pm, visitors can experience the Loch Lomond Bird of Prey Centre like never before and admire beautiful owls, hawks and an amazing Golden Eagle under a blanket of twinkling festive lights.

There will be the opportunity to see the wonderful Snowy Owl Bosch on the glove of its expert handler, then visitors can head out onto the woodland trail for more light effects and sound features before finishing the evening off with some live music from local musicians and a hot chocolate to warm up at The Kilted Skirlie restaurant.

The event is aimed at anyone looking for something different to get into the festive spirit and tickets will also include a sneak peek at some of the cabins and features which will come alive from Sunday 20 November, running up until Christmas Eve (on selected dates) when the brand new Santa’s Enchanted Village will open.

Event Organiser Kat Kennedy said: "This event is a great way to kickstart Winter celebrations and is something completely new for us. Excitement is already building around Santa’s Enchanted Village which launches on Sunday 20 November, so Light Up at The Loch is an excellent chance for visitors to Loch Lomond Shores to experience the festivities in the build up to Christmas.’’

Tickets cost £7.50 and are available exclusively via - please check for availability.

The event runs from 4.30-8pm both days and tickets are available every 15 minutes.

The event lasts approximately 45 minutes- 1 hour and there will also be a face painting and balloon modelling zone (small charge applies).
