New Online Shop: A Gift from Loch Lomond

A Gift from Loch Lomond is a new on-line shop, selling gifts and experiences which are made in, or connected to the destination of Loch Lomond.

The concept is the brainchild of the Fraser family, owners of the award winning Oak Tree Inn, bar and restaurant in Balmaha.

Ove the last few years, brothers Stuart and David Fraser have introduced a number of new products and services, including a microbrewery, ice cream range and coffee brand.

Stuart Fraser of The Oak Tree Inn explains this new on-line shop is a logical step forward: ‘We have seen huge appreciation from our customers for the increasing number of items that we produce on-site, or are sourced from local Loch Lomond producers and manufacturers. We felt that this was the right time to create an on-line shop to retail existing and new items.’

The recently launched website www.giftfromlochlomond.co.uk has had a very successful start, retailing everything from whisky tours to retro t-shirts, candles and pictures that are made in Loch Lomond and the surrounding area.

One of the most popular items has been pebble art produced as pictures by Loch Lomond Rocks, run by Stuart and David’s sisters Holly and Nina Fraser.

This initiative is part of a large expansion programme for The Oak Tree Inn: this year has seen the business open its second St Mocha Coffee Shop for the summer months on Luss Pier, and the repeat of the family's second festival, Balmaha’s Braw Weekend, in October 2016, which attracted 6,500 people to the area.

Another new venture has been the introduction of the Loch Lomond Chocolate Co. - a range of artisan produced chocolate bars, which are proving to be very popular.

As David Fraser of the Oak Tree Inn explains, this is only the beginning: ‘Now that we have the website set up we want to expand the range and are talking to many local artists and manufacturers about increasing the number of quality products offered’.
