The Love Loch Lomond 2014 AGM and Networking Event took place on Thursday 4th December at The Lodge on Loch Lomond Hotel, Luss.
Members, partners and guests enjoyed an informative day with a networking lunch and trade exhibition, a warm welcome from Love Loch Lomond Chair Stuart Cordner, followed by a review of the year’s activities and future outlook for 2015 from Love Loch Lomond Project Manager Karen Donnelly.
The vision for Love Loch Lomond is to grow the volume and value of tourism in the area around Loch Lomond and the Clyde Sea Lochs. It aims to do this through focusing on the following three strategic objectives:
- Love People: Aspire to be renowned as welcoming, friendly and truly exceptional hosts to our visitors and members.
- Love Places: Offering truly exceptional access for visitors to explore our towns, landscapes and seascapes.
- Love Experiences: Providing exceptional, memorable authentic experiences at every point of the customer journey
Love Loch Lomond Project Manager Karen Donnelly reported on the progress of several ongoing Love Loch Lomond projects, activities and developments related to the above strategic objectives including the free Cycle Rack Initiative, the new Clyde Sea Lochs Trail Project, recent food and drink initiatives (plus opportunities for 2015), digital and PR communications and the Love Loch Lomond website performance and growth for 2014.
Guests and members also learned about this year’s hosted press visits and coverage generated from overseas press to the destination during the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games, The Ryder Cup and more.
Members were delighted to see a new mini Love Loch Lomond 30 second video, produced by Paul Saunders Media, to be shown at Edinburgh Airport for an extended period, highlighting the variety of things to see and do on offer in the destination of Loch Lomond and the Clyde Sea Lochs.
Project Manager Karen Donnelly also offered suggestions for new and existing members on how to engage with Love Loch Lomond, particularly via the website in sharing events, activities, social media updates and news.
Guest speaker Ewan Henderson of Scotch Broth Events offered practical and innovative ideas and tips on how businesses can develop their food and drink offering, particularly relevant with the Year of Food and Drink Scotland ahead in 2015. Fiona Young of Fiona Young Consultancy gave an engaging talk on the fundamental need for service excellence within our destination, relating also to the learning experiences and workshops already enjoyed by several Love Loch Lomond members to date, and with future service excellence learning opportunities still to come.
