Loch Lomond Shores Welcomes a Taste of the Continent

Delights from every corner of Europe will be on offer this coming May Bank Holiday weekend as Loch Lomond Shores hosts its first continental market of the summer.

From Thursday 23rd May to Monday 27th May, the shopping complex and visitor attraction at Balloch will be transformed into a bustling bazaar.

Professional market traders from across Europe including France, Germany, Turkey and Greece will offer a true taste of the continent with their national delicacies.

High quality, delicious products available will include Provence-style chicken and potatoes, Greek olives and dried fruits, Spanish paella, and firm favourite, German meats on the barbeque.

Those with a sweet tooth won't be disappointed with a variety of sweet treats including freshly prepared waffles and crepes from France, Turkish baklava, chocolate apples and fudge.

There will also be a wide range of beautifully crafted products including handmade garden furniture along with stylish gifts including scarves and hair accessories.

As well as the continental market, Loch Lomond Shores has a fantastic line up of events and activities for all the family over the Bank Holiday weekend.

On Friday 24th May the SEA LIFE Aquarium will kick off their first movie screenings with Finding Nemo at 5.30pm and Iron Man 3 at 8.30pm.

On Saturday 25th May kids can get creative with free arts and crafts in the Mall with the fabulous Creation Station team.

On Sunday 26th May the complex welcomes the arrival of 150 female bikers who finish their three day, 450 mile, bike ride at Loch Lomond Shores in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support.

And on Monday 27th May the Animal Man Mini Zoo will be outside in the Gathering area where you can get up close to an array of friendly creatures.

Clare Gemmell, Loch Lomond Shores Manager, says: "I'm delighted to welcome back the continental market traders to Loch Lomond Shores. It is always a huge hit with our visitors and brings a great atmosphere. With all the delicious food on offer and the variety of free activities for everyone, as well as the fantastic shopping, it's a wonderful day out for all the family this Bank Holiday weekend."
