Loch Lomond Get Active Festival Saturday 18th May
The Loch Lomond Get Active Festival has launched an exciting programme of outdoor activities for all the family which will take place on Saturday 18th May from 11am to 5pm.
The Festival takes place across three venues this year: Loch Lomond Shores, Balloch Country Park and World of Golf in Clydebank.
West Dunbartonshire Council, Loch Lomond Shores, local businesses, clubs and organisations are working together to provide fantastic opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to get involved in a wide range of activities. Most events are free and some offered at a much-reduced festival rate.
There is a huge variety of things to do on offer, from water-based activities such as adrenalin-fuelled rib rides on the loch, water-ski-ing and canoeing, from land-based pursuits such as mini golf, archery, Segways, dressing up as Robert The Bruce or trying your hand at being a Dare Devil and beating the axe-throwing champion!
In this year of Natural Scotland 2013 there are also lots of options to learn more about wildlife and get up close and personal with nature in and around Loch Lomond. Try a healing herbs guided walk, learn about local wildlife, owls, and birds of prey, make your own bird box for the garden or join in with gardening demonstrations and buy some plants, and lots more.
Looking for something completely different? How about Tree Trekking, Welly Whanging or Horse and Cart Rides from Roy Rogers and Loch Lomond Carriages?
Check out the extensive programme at www.getactivelochlomond.co.uk – some events require advance booking – full contact details, times and information is on the website.
