Loch Lomond & Clyde Sea Lochs Businesses up for Tourism Oscars
Destination Organisation Love Loch Lomond is delighted to see four local tourism and hospitality business members within the destination reach finalist stage of this year’s coveted “tourism Oscars”, the VisitScotland Scottish Thistle Awards.
The VisitScotland Scottish Thistle Awards have been celebrating and recognising excellence in Scottish tourism for 20 years: the awards are based on 5 regional programmes with the winners progressing to the National Final.
In the Love Loch Lomond area, the following businesses have been recognised under the following regions and categories:
Central South West
Cameron House - Regional Young Ambassador, Amy Lyons
La Barca Spanish Tapas and Wine Bar, Riverbank Bar & Restaurant and Cattle & Creel Steakhouse and Seafood Bar, all Helensburgh - Innovation

Central South East
The Oak Tree Inn Balmaha – Friendliest Pub/Bar
Owners Cara and Milan Nikolic of Helensburgh restaurants La Barca, Riverbank and new addition Cattle & Creel, whose businesses are nominated in two categories (Innovation & Best Restaurant Experience) are delighted to have reached finalist stage.
Cara Nikolic said: “We’re over the moon to be recognised as playing a role in tourism in Helensburgh. Just to be shortlisted is an achievement in itself.”
Husband Milan Nikolic said: “We want everyone who crosses our door to have a fantastic experience from attentive service and a great atmosphere to the quality, locally sourced produce we serve. We’re delighted to be shortlisted against two very prestigious Glasgow restaurants. We’re passionate about what we do and it’s also great recognition for our staff who work so hard.”

The regional final for Central South West finalists takes place on 4th November and the regional final for Central South East is on 11th November 2015.
