Five Stars from Visit Scotland for Loch Lomond Shores

Loch Lomond Shores has officially become a five-star destination after VisitScotland awarded the site its highest accolade.

The prestigious award in the Tourist Shop category was presented to the beautiful loch-side complex in Balloch, West Dunbartonshire, after several undercover visits by inspectors.

VisitScotland uses a five-level star-grading system to indicate the standard of customer care and range of facilities on offer at assessed establishments.

Loch Lomond Shores was recognised as providing five-star service to its visitors, which is defined as an "exceptional standard".

The accolade has been welcomed during a hugely successful period for the shopping centre and visitor complex which has seen record footfall.

Loch Lomond Shores was ranked as the second most visited free attraction in Scotland in 2012 when it welcomed 1.13 million visitors.

Gordon Morrison, Regional Quality and Tourism Manager for VisitScotland, said:

"As a shopping experience Loch Lomond Shores is outstanding and meets our five-star criteria for a Tourist Shop.

"It is no easy feat to attain a five-star award, so it is to Loch Lomond Shores' great credit that this has been achieved in their first year of grading".

Clare Gemmell, Loch Lomond Shores Manager, said:

"This award by VisitScotland is a fantastic achievement for Loch Lomond Shores. I’m thrilled that we have been recognised as providing an exceptional standard of service to our visitors.

"Receiving this award is testament to the dedication of our incredible team of staff at Loch Lomond Shores who work exceptionally hard to ensure that visitors receive the best experience.
