Charity Fashion Showcase Comes to Jenners
A special charity fashion evening to recognise the work of local unpaid carers and volunteers from the Helensburgh & Lomond Carers Centre will take place at the loch-side setting of Jenners at Loch Lomond Shores on Thursday 4th September 2014.
The evening event, starting at 6.45pm and running until 9.30pm, will see young teenagers through to older adult carers and Carer centre volunteers from the local area take to the catwalk to model the latest collections from Jenners, A House of Fraser store.
Tickets costing just £5 are now on sale for this fantastic fashion and shopping extravaganza, with guests receiving a glass of Prosecco on arrival, a House of Fraser goody bag, beauty demonstrations by Clarins, fantastic tombola giveaways and exclusive raffle prizes such as a Loch Lomond cruise aboard the luxury 'Celtic Warrior' and Afternoon Tea both courtesy of the event’s partners, Cameron House Hotel.
All models will be treated to an indulgent evening of pampering and fun as they sit back, relax and for once allow others to care for them as they get their hair and make-up ready for the show.
Husband and wife Ivan and Joan Thompson will be taking to the runway on the evening and are just two of the carers who attend The Carers Centre in Helensburgh. One of the centre’s young carers, Ellie Wynne, is just 10 years old and helps care for her sister Maddy aged 7, who has a genetic condition. Ellie has overcome extreme shyness to participate in the show which is an outstanding achievement for her and her family.
Alison Smith, store manager at Jenners, Loch Lomond Shores said:"We are delighted to support the work of Helensburgh & Lomond Carers and by staging the event in store we are able to offer both the carers participating in the show and the many guests who purchase tickets, a truly exclusive fashion and beauty experience."
Eileen McCrory, manager at Helensburgh & Lomond Carers said: "The support from both Jenners and Cameron House in helping us organise this fashion evening has been fantastic. The excitement is starting to build amongst our carers as they start to prepare for the show. It is a wonderful opportunity to identify those unpaid carers who are unknown to us and raise awareness of the support available to them."
The charity event has been organised in partnership with the Carers Centre, Jenners and Cameron House Hotel.
Loch Lomond Shores is the gateway to Scotland's first national park and is situated at Ben Lomond Way, Balloch, G83 8QL
All monies raised from the event will be donated to the Helensburgh & Lomond Carers SCIO, who make a positive difference to the lives of unpaid carers.
Tickets are £5: available from Jenners or from The Carers Centre, 17E East King St, Helensburgh. Tel 01436 673444.
