Belgian TV Travel Programme to Showcase Best of Love Loch Lomond

A major TV travel show from Belgium visited the Love Loch Lomond area last week to film some its key attractions. The crew of three visited Glengoyne Distillery, The Trossachs, and Inchcailloch on Loch Lomond in one of Macfarlane Boatyard’s traditional clinker style boats. They also discovered the pretty conservation village of Luss and filmed the haggis-making process with master butcher, Joe Callaghan in Helensburgh.

Vlaanderen Vakantieland is the main holiday travel programme shown on Eén, the largest television channel on VRT, which is the national public-service broadcaster for the Flemish region of Belgium. The programme is also broadcast in the Netherlands.

This Scottish edition will be shown in the Spring of 2014 and is being presented by the well-known Belgian journalist Kobe Ilsen.

The crew stayed at the Loch Lomond Arms Hotel in Luss and The Oak Tree Inn in Balmaha.

Love Loch Lomond chairman, Stuart Cordner said: “This is a great opportunity to showcase our area to a key European market. Thanks to many of our consortium members who have worked closely with the team on both the recce two weeks ago and the actual filming last week, we will be able to promote the Love Loch Lomond area to an audience of 1 million viewers in Belgium and the Netherlands.
