Awards, Anniversaries and Accolades for Love Loch Lomond Members

It’s been an eventful time recently for the Love Loch Lomond community with lots of great news to celebrate and share – read on to catch up with what we’ve been up to!

Congratulations are in order for several Love Loch Lomond member businesses which have been in the news recently due to their efforts to develop and promote excellence in their respective businesses. The team at The Oak Tree Inn, Balmaha, were delighted to pick up an award for Independent Pub/Bar of the Year from the Scottish Licenced Trade News (SLTN) on Saturday 1st November, while Love Loch Lomond members The Ardlui Hotel, Loch Lomond, were also highly commended as SLTN finalists in the Best Smoking Facilities category. The Awards aim to recognise excellence across all aspects of Scotland’s licensed trade, from community locals to cocktail bars. Loch Lomond Seaplanes recently celebrated their 10th Anniversary in business and announced exciting new plans for the future in how they are going to develop their fleet to continue to improve on the customer experience. Plans include refitting the interior of the aircraft, adding a bench ‘love’ seat and providing customers with a new, specially designed Loch Lomond route map to take with them as well as a personalised print-out of the actual route flown. Another member business recently celebrating a fantastic ten years is Victorian self-catering property, Mansefield House in Arrochar, on the shores of Loch Long, owned by the Butcher family, whose amazing initial journey was captured in the Channel Four programme with Kirsty and Phil on Location Location Location! Wedding planners and event organisers Weddings at Loch Lomond were delighted to receive a mention from Jackie Baillie, MSP, acknowledging the efforts and hard work that has gone into developing the company and its contribution to the local business community to date, and Duncryne Equitation and Trekking Centre was proud to receive its recent 4 Star Grading award from Visit Scotland. Still on the subject of awards, Sheildaig Farm Bed and Breakfast, Loch Lomond, is looking forward to receiving a Healthy Eating Award at a ceremony at the Falkirk Wheel next week and Cruise Loch Lomond & Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park are attending Scottish tourism oscars The Scottish Thistle Awards, at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Glasgow, on Friday 9th November for the National Final. The organisations were regional finalists in the Visit Britain Marketing Campaign of the Year award for their promotion of the Loch Lomond Water Bus service. Love Loch Lomond looks forward to celebrating all of these successes and more with its members at the Annual General Meeting which takes place on Tuesday 20th November at Cameron House Hotel on Loch Lomond from 10am.
