A Record Breaking Year for Loch Lomond Shores
As 2014 drew to a close, Loch Lomond Shores reflected on the phenomenal successes of the past year, with well over 1.2 million visitors enjoying the spectacular setting, attractions and excellent shopping on offer over the past twelve months. These are the highest visitor attendance statistics in the five-star retail complex and attraction’s history.
Many viewed 2014 as Scotland’s year with major events such as The 2014 Commonwealth Games taking place in Glasgow and the 2014 Ryder Cup Scotland celebrated in Gleneagles. With Loch Lomond Shores located just a short twenty minute drive from the city of Glasgow, the retail attraction was delighted to have been on everyone’s “must-visit” list as it welcomed thousands of visitors from all corners of the world, as well as countless local visitors who enjoyed everything which the attraction has to offer.
Over the past year, the team at Loch Lomond Shores has worked exceptionally hard, planning and delivering a series of hugely popular events, such as the Loch Lomond Food & Drink Festival and the Festive Lights Switch On, to name but a few. These events also registered record attendances and demonstrated that no matter whatever the season, there is always plenty to do on the banks of Loch Lomond.
Retailers on site enjoyed the benefits of increased visitor numbers in 2014, with almost 100,000 Christmas shoppers passing through the doors in December, enjoying that magical shopping experience and the opportunity to choose from a selection of unique gifts.
The centre’s digital channels have also developed considerably this past year, and communicating events and activities to new and existing visitors, whether they are located in Balloch or Boston has become even easier, allowing subscribers to find out about events, special offers and the latest news at the click of a button.
2015 is shaping up to be another exciting and jam-packed year of entertainment, festivals, exclusive shopping and outdoor adventures for Loch Lomond Shores. With new attractions such as Tree Zone, the aerial adventure course, and the Queen of the Loch, Marston’s Inn, opening this Spring, there is even more for visitors to see and do on their next trip to Loch Lomond Shores.
Clare Gemmell, General Manager at Loch Lomond Shores said: “We are ecstatic that so many visitors chose to visit us in 2014. The record high is a great boost for the many businesses on site and to say we are thrilled is an understatement. The on-site team has worked exceptionally hard to deliver our largest events programme to date as well as maintaining the site to always look its best. It’s now our mission to make 2015 even bigger and better than last year!”
The next major event scheduled for Loch Lomond Shores and set to take place on the banks of Loch Lomond is Springfest, The Scottish Food & Drink Festival, a celebration of Scottish food and drink, taking place on Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th April; the inaugural event celebrating the Year of Food and Drink Scotland 2015.
