Ballat Smithy Cottage is a charming two bedroom, semi detached cottage created from the original workshops of Ballat Smithy, which was built at the end of the 18th Century for the Buchanan estates of the Duke of Montrose.

Ideally situated for exploring central Scotland,the cottage faces south with views to the Campsie Fells and the surrounding fields and woods. Loch Lomond and the Trossachs are a few minutes away by car; Stirling is 30 minutes' drive and Edinburgh, Glasgow & Perth can be reached in 1 hour or less.

There are two bedrooms equipped with double or twin beds as required; a cot is available.

All heating, electricity, linen and towels are included in the price; a selection of Fair Trade, local & home made produce is provided. Toiletries made in Scotland for guests' use.  There is private parking and a small garden with sheltered patio.

Children are welcome. The cottage is strictly no smoking, and we do not allow pets.
