Appletree Cottage

  • About
  • Facilities

Appletree is a newly built cottage specially designed for the self-catering holiday maker. Accommodating up to 8 people it features a large and spacious living space with wood burning stove and features picture windows looking southwards across open countryside. The cosy bedrooms are all ensuite (3 with shower, 1 with bath and shower).
Wheelchair users should find easy access to the ground floor living space and ground floor bedroom (please see separate details)
Set in its own gardens which are mostly laid to lawn the cottage has a private patio accessible through a large sliding door from the living space for alfresco dining.
The highly insulated cottage with heating and hot water provided by our own farm log boiler uses local sustainably sourced wood to provide a beautifully warm, comfortable home away from home.
This is the perfect spot to sit back and engage in some wildlife spotting and even better, you wont have to go far to see some of Scotland’s rarer and iconic animals and birds within the national park.

Surrounded by a small apple farm the property is on the John Muir Way (Helensburgh to Dunbar) which for that part also forms a section of Sustrans Cycle Route 7 (Sunderland to Inverness). The surroundings are very peaceful with only occasional traffic, and small groups of cyclists and walkers on the John Muir Way. The gently undulating network of quiet single track roads make exploring by bicycle fun and there are plenty of good walks nearby providing breathtaking views across this very pretty part of Scotland.
Being in the National Park there are nearby interests for many tastes including Golf, Fishing, Wildlife spotting, Walking, Cycling (local cycle hire available), Mountaineering, Riding and boating – including pleasure trips on Loch Lomond.

If you are hoping to take in some of Scotlands best history and culture while on holiday, then appletree is a perfect base for exploring the big three cities and some of the best gardens and castles. Glasgow and Stirling are only 30mins away and Edinburgh is just over an hour away, each one make for a great day trip.
We would recommend that you have a car for maximum fun and accordingly we have ample parking.
So come and join us for a friendly welcome and relaxing break in the comfort of our unique holiday cottage.
