Boating & Watersports
Given that water is an essential ingredient for this pastime, we've got 2,628 cubic metres of it in Loch Lomond, though canoeists will be more interested in its surface area – 71 sq. km. – spectacular scenery, islands to sail round, pubs to visit, slipway provision, a choice of marinas, plus all the space of the largest freshwater loch in the UK. Basically, what’s not to like? Loch Lomond is simply one of the finest inland waters in the UK.
Like most other leisure activities in this area, you’ll find there's a great choice on the loch itself – and then some! Open water paddling on the lochs of the Trossachs to the east or adventurous descents for the experienced on the River Falloch to the north…..paddlers of all kinds will find lots to discover. And canoe hire is on the doorstep as well. Alternatively, waterskiing tuition is available on the loch as well. It's the perfect location to develop your skills.
(Remember this is a beautiful conservation area. All power-driven boats must be register, in accordance with the Loch Lomond Byelaws.)
