Glengoyne has produced continuously since 1833. Knowledge is passed from one generation of distiller to the next. Nothing is written down, but nothing is forgotten. The methods don’t change. It’s about distilling slowly; very slowly. It’s about securing the finest oak casks and having the patience to spend six years preparing them for their first drop of spirit. But what shines through most of all when you visit Glengoyne is that sense of pride. We are intensely proud of what we do. It’s a feeling that comes from doing things properly, from not cutting corners, from ensuring that every drop of Glengoyne is the best it can be.
The slowest distillation process in Scotland. Six years spent preparing the perfect oak casks before they receive their first drop of spirit. Barley dried by air, never peat. Glengoyne gives you pause to reflect that it's only by investing valuable time and infinite care that you can create something of real worth.
Glengoyne Distillery snuggles in to Dumgoyne Hill, just 14 miles north of Glasgow, with the mountains of Loch Lomond in the distance. We are easy to reach, you have no excuse. Drive in less than 40 minutes from Glasgow or 30 minutes from Stirling. Cycle or walk the famous West Highland Way. Better still, get the bus, it stops at our door.
However you get here, it will be well worth it.
